Use the office that matches the warrant source. A missed District Court traffic date, a felony case in Circuit Court, and a municipal ordinance case may sit in different systems. Types of Clarke County Warrants

Traffic and Municipal Warrants
Clarke County traffic citations issued for District Court can turn into warrant issues if the case is not paid or otherwise disposed of before the court date and the defendant fails to appear. The official traffic page warns of arrest warrant, ALEA license suspension, increased fine, and bond forfeiture. If the ticket is payable, Alapay or Alabama Online Traffic Resolution may show payment or resolution options before the matter reaches that point.
Municipal matters are different. City ordinance cases and selected municipal traffic tickets may belong with the municipal court that issued the citation or order. Coffeeville, Fulton, Grove Hill, Jackson, and Thomasville are the municipalities identified in the research. Start with the issuing city when the citation or police contact came from a city case rather than a county District Court matter.
Resolve an Outstanding Warrant
Before appearing in person, identify where the warrant came from. If it followed a traffic citation or missed District Court date, start with the Circuit Clerk or traffic system. If it came from a municipal ticket, check that city court. If it followed a felony charge, check Circuit Court and the Sheriff's Office. The First Judicial Circuit District Attorney site explains that felony cases may involve grand jury review and indictment, so felony warrants may have more than one court event behind them.
- Call the office tied to the case and ask whether bond has been set.
- Ask what payment types are accepted and whether cash, money order, cashier's check, or other tender is required.
- If the warrant is tied to traffic, check Alapay or OTR before assuming court appearance is the only option.
- If the warrant is for failure to appear, ask the issuing court about the process to recall, quash, or reset the case.
- For felony or serious charges, speak with counsel before turning yourself in.
Note: The sheriff can serve a warrant even when a person appears voluntarily to ask about it.
State and Federal Warrant Paths
